> my pont was that the generic i was taking worked very well for me. we are trying to figure out the manufacturer. i thought it was forest. im told forest just manufacturers brand not generics. the new generic does not work well. trying to get back to the original. the pharmacy is having a hard time figuring it out.
Some manufacturers of brand name drugs also make generic versions of their products as preparations with different appearances and packaging. As far as I can tell, Forest is not doing this with Lexapro (escitalopram). There are quite a few different generic drug companies making escitalopram. Teva was the first one granted license to sell a generic and was the exclusive manufacturer for the first 6 months after the patent expired. You might be able to find out what generic drug company your pharmacy (wholesaler) used to fill your previous orders, and then request for that company by name for future refills.
