I actually know a lot about this area. For years, this is what I thought I had. If you look at the symptoms of "Adrenal Fatigue" they are almost a 100% match with MDD/Dysthymia/Atypical Depression.
To answer your question, Yes. Adrenaline is the bodies way of sending the hormone Cortisol (from the adrenal glands) through your body as a response to the "Fight or Flight" moment. Stress, produces constant cortisol and thus leaves you run down and can impact many other things. There two well documented syndromes in which cortisol deals with. Addisons, and Cushings. Think of them as the ying and yang of the Cortisol hormone crisis, the same as you would of Hyper and Hypothyroidism. One pushes too much cortisol, the other not enough.
Adrenal Fatigue is not accepted by the medical community, but is very popular with holistic and natural physicians. I can tell you that while I matched every symptom... no supplement, drug, or life style change helped my issues. I took several Saliva tests (a 4 time a day measurement of saliva that you spit into a tube and then send to a lab). All said I was in a adrenal crisis and needed help. In my opinion, Adrenal Fatigue is a market for supplement companies to extort money from those suffering and are under diagnosed or not yet diagnosed with the real reason they are suffering.
If you do not believe me, Google Adrenal Fatigue. You will be linked to many websites talking about stories, yet they all sell their own supplements that promise to help you and they're always made from a power formula. The same formula and ingrediants can be purchased from a local grocery store or pharmacy.
My point... look into this as a possible reason for things going on with, but be causious when purchasing supplements promising help.
