Geodon is an unpredictable drug. It can produce a nice antidepressant effect or it can produce anxiety, insomnia, and "paradoxical" agitation. According to Stephen Stahl, these adverse effects are more apt to occur at low dosages.

If you are looking for a neuroleptic antipsychotic with antidepressant properties that does not promote weight-gain, Latuda (lurasidone) is worth exploring.
