One doctor claimed that I had a rare brain mutation which caused an overactivity of the NMDA receptor. This mutation would mean that I am smarter than average, but be prone to seemingly unprovoked panic attacks (a panic attack wherein I would not consciously be "panicking" about anything). One example of such an attack was when I bent over and felt a bit of postural hypotension sweep over my body. For most normal people, this would not be a big deal, however, for me, my body surged adrenaline through my body and I was very close to losing consciousness!
