Cravings weight gain Geodon.

Posted by Sheilac on May 30, 2013, at 18:58:35

I've been taking Geodon for a while now for depression, but I have gained a lot of weight. It didn't do that to me last time I took it. I take 40mgs at dinner for depression. My main med is Trileptal, but I can't take any of the antidepressants.
I take Geodon with dinner and within 2 hours I'm starving and craving sweets!

I wish this weren't happening. Last time I took Geodon I lost weight (but was unstable -wasn't on Trileptal).

I started 12.5 mg Lamictal in the morning and it helps with depression, but makes me irritable later in the day. Is this normal? I don't want to take Lamictal at night otherwise I would never sleep.

Abilify made me fat, Seroquel and Zyprexa made me fat.

Trileptal is awesome for stability. I only take 600mg and sometimes I think I need more. Maybe that would stop the Geodon hunger?

Anyone experience weight gain and severe hunger and sweets cravings on Geodon? Sounds like its messing with my blood sugar now!

Will the Lamictal irritability go away or do I have to counter that with an increase in Trileptal? I just started 12.5mg of Lamictal this week. Working back up.

Maybe the irritability and depression are due to stopping Geodon?

What am I supposed to do? I can't walk around miserable, irritable and depressed!

My options for meds that help with depression are limited. Geodon and Lamictal help me with depression.

I can't get any fatter. Not sure what to do.
