The maximum prescribed dose in Australia is actually 30mg. I convinced a psychiatrist to go up to 60mg last year, which is the minimum I need to improve my mood, but it agitated me and did little for anxiety.
I've found a psychiatrist who seems experienced in using higher doses of MAOIs. He's put me back on Parnate, starting at 40mg, and predictably it's making my mood/anxiety worse.
Did you find that exceeding 60mg improved your anxiety? I've heard that can paradoxically occur with Parnate.
