How does your IBS react to tricyclic antidepressants? Which ones help most?
With high-dose Parnate, you should be able to safely add either desipramine or nortriptyline. I'm guessing that desipramine would be more effective for IBS, but you would know better than me. I was once on a combination of Parate 150 mg/day and desipramine. These drugs should be particularly helpful for treating the IBS-D subtype, as they tend to reduce bowel motility.
