She was playing safe - when benzos were released they were approved for short term use, but hundereds of thousands of people have used them long term and have not founf any problems other than mild dependency in most cases. The thing is, drug company employees cantpromote their drugs for off label use, thus the 9 weeks thing.
Wehn the pill was tested, it was tested on women for 3 years before it was marketed, but nowadays, some women spend 35 years on the pill.Benzos have been in use for 50 years, their good and bad efects are well known, and if your doc feels comfortable with you taking clonazepam, I'd be happy with that.
