>As Jono said, Parnate can help with ADD, but you may find that it is insufficient. Either one of the stimulants mentioned are compatable with Parnate. I have combined Parnate with these drugs and did not notice any additional side effects. In fact, methylphenidate can reverse the hypotension that Parnate can produce.
I would be cautious about adding either amphetamine or methylphenidate so as to screen for a hypertensive reaction. Perhaps you can have your blood pressure measured immediately after taking your first dose. I have just been prescribed Focalin methylphenidate to add to Parnate and nortriptyline. It is hoped that it will mitigate the cognitive impairments that my depression produces.
Most doctors underdose their patients on Parnate. The effective dosage usually falls between 40 - 80 mg/day. A special high-dosage strategy uses dosages of 120 mg/day and higher.
Good luck.
