I've never tried clonazepam, but I've been on the other three. I took lorazepam almost every night for three years for insomnia. It has a much shorter half-life than clonazepam, and this might have contributed to all the problems I eventually developed with it -- tolerance and interdose withdrawal. I was on regular alprazolam. This worked well for me during some very stressful periods. I never took it long enough to develop any of the problems I had with lorazepam. Diazepam has a very long half-life, longer even than clonazepam. I found it much more sedating than the other two benzos. I felt very calm when I was on it, but also more depressed. It was a very calm, sluggish depression.
