Hi R.
Being chronically bullied, ridiculed, or otherwise abused and neglected can produce a form of PTSD that is more developmental than it is acute. This can lead to depression and other anamolies of the mind-brain connection. Based upon my recent studies and experience, I suggest that you ask your doctors about using prazosin for developmental PTSD, perhaps in conjunction with other drugs. You would need to start off at only 1 mg/day to avoid startup dizziness and somnolence. The dose average range of dosages used in studies of PTSD is 6 - 12 mg/day. I take 15 mg/day. Even 3 mg/day can help. You would need to divide your daily dosage into three times a day. When used this way, depression and anxiety can be reduced throughout the day, and is not limited to nightmares or disturbed sleep.
