I wouldn't use that term to describe it...but it's worth noting that the entire time I was on Saphris, I NEVER took or needed a daytime nap. I always attributed that to the fact that my sleep was very good on Saphris, but maybe it also helped my mood, which contributes to me not feeling like I want to sleep during the day. I call them "depression naps"> Are there any side effects with Saphris?
I didn't like the heart pounding out of my chest feeling every morning. Some weight gain. I put up with the less than pleasant sublingual tablet, but I didn't like how it seemed I could still feel something different about the inside of my mouth the next morning. I used to just take it literally right before I got into bed because it is so sedating. I realized later it is better to take it, wait the 10 minutes, THEN brush your teeth if you don't want to feel like your mouth is still numb or something from the night before.

Usually no trigger, its more like it simply makes already existing situations unbearable. Racing thoughts so fast I can't concentration enough to go to work, even if that is the only symptom, but there's always several. I usually get my 8 hours/night but then it will creep up to 6 hours for a couple nights, then 4 hours/night, the need for sleep just disappears. Otherwise sleep is really good right now even without Saphris. I've found diphenhydramine to be very useful!
How does the Saprhis help?
Calms me down, like any atypical I have tried. Seems to help regulate sleep. Reins in extreme mood swings. Used longer term probably helps depression. Helps mania/mixed very fast, I think similar to what people say about Zyprexa.
Aside from these episodes, do you feel that you are in remission?
