Most people can take benzos long-term without too many problems, but a significant number, maybe one-third, will encounter major problems if they take benzos too long -- tolerance and interdose withdrawal. I took lorazepam almost every night for three years for insomnia. Because of tolerance, I increased my dose, and then increased it again. The interdose withdrawal eventually made my depression and anxiety worse and caused terrible gastrointestinal problems. It took me four months to taper off benzos, and it was an awful four months. Again, most people who takes benzos won't experience this, but it's something you should be on the lookout for if you decide to take Klonopin long-term.
