I have decided to take a small dose of lithium indefinitely to combat much of what is mentioned in the article, especially Alzheimer's Dementia. I currently take 300 mg/day, but I might try to reduce that to 150 mg/day once I have established and maintained remission of depression for an extended period of time. It will depend, in part, upon the data now being generated regarding lithium dosing to prevent and treat Alzheimer's. My reasons for wanting to reduce the dosage of lithium is only to prevent toxicity (kidney and thyroid) from long-term use. Toxicity is dosage-dependent.
