tricyclics where popular vary in the 1970's and 80's then prozac came on the scene, changed the history of the antidepressants. They still are used but their used after SSRIs are not helping and then after the tricylics are ineffective they used MAO's...some docs will just go straight for parnate....no tricyclics after SSRI NRI have failed.

there's a couple people here who do take them....but parnate is used alot here on babble...
