Works for me too. Together with medication it does not provide a complete remission of symptoms, but it does help a lot. I'm laid off from running at the moment due to injury and HOLY BATMAN, I did not realise how much running was helping me with anxiety in particular and to a lesser extent depression. I get a short-term benefit from depression with running, but a greater and longer lasting effect on my anxiety levels.
Except when I feel like the living dead due to depression, I'm going BONKERS over here. No other exercise (I'm still allowed to walk, swim or cycle and do weights) is helping one bit. I think it is because running brings my heart rate up far higher than any other cardiovascular exercise.
Disclaimer: I can't run at all without medication. Heck, I can't even walk! Also it does not do anything to my mood if I am non-reactive / have constant anehdonia. If I'm too depressed it can even make me feel worse.
