Jess, I think I've given my pdoc several heart attacks for the dangerous self-medicating I've done in the past. But he is very cool about it; says he understands that I am just desperate to feel better. He is very, very cool. I hope your pdoc is the same way.

Nardil can be amazing, but the only thing it does for me anymore is to control my anxiety at a low dose. But I'm not complaining! That in it self is to be honored. The only bad thing, which rears it's ugly head whether or not the Nardil is helping, and no matter what dose you are on, is the weight gain :( I'm wondering if it would not be an incredible drug for people who suffer from anorexia.

Good luck for sure. And I know you know this, but get off the Lexapro ASAP. I hope you continue to feel better.

p.s. Unless you do suffer from bipolar illness, my gut feeling is that adding Lithium to your regimen would be a bad idea. It is so very hard on the kidneys and the electrolytes, plus your cocktail is complicated and perhaps a bit dangerous to begine with. Just my 2 cents.

> Alright, so some lameo decided to break my heart and me already suffering from MDD, decided I didn't really care about my life and I decided to give Nardil another shot. I went totally rogue and ill-advised...I didn't even washout from my escitalopram and went right to Nardil. Took my first 15mg of Nardil and 3 hours later, I felt amazing again...

> Nardil (right now 30 mg but will likely work up to 90mg)

> Ropinirole (0.5 mg)

Gained weight, had bad gastrointestinal side effects, horrible acne. When I tried lowering the Nardil, I lost the antidepressant benefits and side effects were somewhat less but still bad...

> Do any of you think adding Lithium to the mix is a good strategy for extending the lovely hypomania? I am thinking of the Newcastle Cocktail of lithium, Nardil and tryptophan. Problem is, I hope lithium doesn't numb me out or make Nardil weight gain or acne worse.
