MAOIs and self education

Hi Guys,
Haven't been around much lately but thought I should mention this again. When you are taking MAOIs you have to take your level of self education up a level. A very limited number of medical professionals have any knowledge at all of this class of medication.
I went to the initial care clinic today with what they diagnosed as a viral infection (cold). The doctor knew I was taking Nardil but still suggested I take a cough syrup with dextromethorphan. I explained to him that I couldn't take that with Nardil. He asked why not, and I told him that it could possibly kill me. I don't think he really believed me, but hopefully he went and looked it up! Probably not.
