I have taken Nortriptyline. For me (your mileage may vary) some of the anti-chlorinergic side effects went away, others lessened, others stayed the same or worsened over time.
Went away:
- Flu-like symptoms
- Orthostatic hypotensionLessened:
- Tachycardia
- Chest pain
- Palpitations
NB: these were thanks in part to co-commitant use of fish oil and baby aspirin. All would worsen to previous levels if I missed a couple of doses.Stayed the same and/or worsened
- Constipation
- Gas and gas pain
- Bloating
- Intolerance to various foods
NB: Movicol and simethicone has helped partly with the first three but they are still a major problem. I've had to reduce my dose and have a referral to see a gastroenterologist.I found it took about a month for my body to get used to each dose increase and stabilize in terms of side effects.
