Anybody know AAP TD risks?

Posted by Christ_empowered on October 16, 2012, at 23:30:52

I know that docs are always saying that AAPs, as a group, have lower TD risk. That's great. I know its related to dose and length of treatment, just like with the older drugs.

What I'm wondering is...does anyone have any idea of which atypicals might be on the lower end of the TD causing scale?

I read the most frightening thing the other day. Some recent research (you can find a link to the paper on www.madinamerica.com) indicates that the atypicals aren't that much better in terms of TD than the conventional antipsychotics.

Awesome. I do find Abilify to be tolerable, though, at least with the whole Orthomolecular thing on board. I was thinking, though, that Seroquel (maybe 300ish mgs/day) might be less TD-making? They make that xr now. Then again...I hated old school seroquel, and I don't even get EPS off of Abilify.
