Maybe you just need to find a pdoc who fits your personality.
I love my pdoc. I had a lot of problems before, it took about 10 years, but I'm at a point now where I don't even need to see her or take any meds.
I don't think she harmed me. It was good to have her around. I feel like she really cares.
I took meds before but she never pushed them on me. In fact her goal was to get me off meds altogether.
I used to OD and cut and be suicidal, miserable, borderline, etc. I even ended up in the hospital once and in the ER another time, but I'm all good now. I'm actually happy now and never think of killing myself or feel so bad I can't stand it.
Pdoc didn't make me worse, I got better.
Maybe you just need to find the right pdoc.
