Emsam patch better than oral Selegiline?

Posted by AlexCanada on October 4, 2012, at 20:29:50

Hi. I may be getting emsam prescriped tomorrow for my strong melancholic depression. Memantine may also be prescribed. And Savella/Ixel is a back up plan as my doctor can fax a prescription and then I can order it.

I wanted to know if Emsam patch holds significantly better results for treating melancholic depression (or dep in general) than the oral Selegiline tablets?

What may be the major differences aside from possible rashes from the patch?

I am withdrawing from Zoloft now. I felt so numb, dull, emotionly unreactive, zombie-like, inhuman, and cognitively very dull. My cognition is terrible as is already so I hope to make improvements on that front. Anhedonia is extremely strong too. I have hardly any interest in anything.
