It seems that the reuptake of serotonin necessarily blunts emotional response. They have shown this in lab rats and even in studies with patients. I'm especially afraid of protracted anhedonia after discontinuation of a ssri, since scientists have also found lower dopamine levels in post ssri brains. However, some drugs like prozac also inhibit certain serotonin receptors, allowing the disinhibition of dopamine at lower doses. its no surprise that prozac is considered to be a "more activating" ssri. I do hope to try parnate. Does it commonly cause tachycardia?
