Jono_in_Adelaide,
I've taken l-methylfolate, with doses ranging from 800 mcg to 2.4 mg. As far as positive effects are concerned, I noticed a mild energizing effect on the first day that I took the supplement, with no positive benefits after that. I did notice an increase in my auditory pseudohallucinations when I tried 2.4 mg, but it would be my guess that this isn't something that should be a problem in individuals who don't already experience auditory pseudohallucinations.
I think that the l-methylfolate is something that's worth trying. It affected me differently than folic acid affects me, and even though positive effects from l-methylfolate were transient for me, the nutrient might help some individuals in the long run.
That sums up my thoughts on l-methylfolate. Please let me know if you have any questions concerning what I've written.
