What could he possibly say about taking an antibiotic proven safe after years of usage?What are you bringing in to him as supportive evidence that minocycline is a reasonable choice for treating depression?
Minocycline *might* work best when combined with a NRI TCA (desipramine or nortriptyline) and/or Lamictal. If I continue to improve the way I am now, I will eventually try to discontinue Abilify. There is a possibility that I will end up needing it, though. I'll post my results when the time comes. I cannot rule out the possibility that minocycline would act as an augmenter of other types of antidepressants. Unfortunately, I cannot provide the article detailing the tests comparing the antidepressant actions of minocycline when combined with desipramine versus fluoxetine.
