Hi Kat,
IMHO whoever said that you could reduce to a 15mg maintenance dose was wrong. I've been on Nardil for most of 14 years and my lowest maintenance dosage is 60mg. However, I am a large male. Some people may get by with a 45mg maintenance, but the dosage has to be high enough to inhibit MAO. I have never read about 15mg being able to do that for anybody. Whoever wrote that little 15mg tidbit has never taken Nardil. I believe it has been proven wrong in the literature. Not much help, sorry.
Good Luck,
Jedi

Since then I've read that Nardil is often dosed at 60-90mg/day until a positive effect is reached, at which point it is tapered down to a maintenance dose of 15mg/day. Now, my doc and I know that at a dose of 30mg/day I do not get the ataxia. What I was wondering is this: do you think it would be possible to stay at a dose of 30mg/day, and still reach a point of positive effect, even if it takes much longer? I would be more than willing to do that if I knew it would work, b/c all other meds no longer work for me, and Nardil was helping me so much before I had to stop it.
