If the dentist hits the right spot, it doesn't matter too much that the anesthetic preparation does not contain epinephrine. It just doesn't last as long. I asked my pdoc and dentist if the epinephrine would react badly with Parnate. Neither one of them produced a definitive answer, so I opted to not use the epinephrine. I have had 4 fillings and 2 root canals performed on me over the last month without epinephrine using Carbocaine (mepivacaine). "Carbocaine Plain" without epinephrine works fine for me.
