Oh it's true. As the article states "some" only do obtain relief of depression but did their thinking the drug would work like an antibiotic (which do work in most instances) give a belief that oh " I have my Happy Pill now". I've always said that if you give something more same as thyroid the body normally adapts by decreasing it's own supply like thyroid or insulin. Same with serotonin. I believe the article. As I always said why do I need a med to get rid of something I didn't have before taking it. Hence the people I know who stopped did indeed restore homeostatsis after a while. The while being withdrawal. I see it all the time. I've personally stopped lexapro, and going down on the baby dose of luvox and almost off the valium. .5 of xanax now as does have antidepressant effects. Why because it reduces stress. And supplements are being used more and more by pdocs. Look at the drug companies jumping on the bandwagon with Deplin and other supplements like fishoil. Just my take. Phillipa
