> Hey, all. I've been weaning off nortriptyline and tryptophan gradually over the last 4 weeks while continuing my doze of 200 mg sertraline. I'm going to be adding wellbutrin soon but the elimination half-life seems so variable(16-90 hours) that I don't know when it would be safe to do so. My last 25 mg dose of nortriptyline was this afternoon and my next appointment with the psychiatrist is Thursday, so I was anticipating beginning Friday. Any ideas?

What safety issues are you worried about, re: nortrip and wellbutrin? Increased seizure risk? I suppose that might be an issue...

If you can wait for Thursday, I'd suggest you do that, but in lieu of that, if you've only been on 25mg of nortrip for, say, a week or more then, well, that's not much. I doubt there'd be much danger in adding an initiatory (i.e. small) dose of wellbutrin with the nortrip still in your system.

That said, the sertraline does make things more complicated, which is why it -might- be wise to wait and ask your physician, rather than following any advice you receive here. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
