In reply to Vyvanse-- not as effective 6 hours in. up dose?, posted by novelagent on June 13, 2012, at 16:18:43
I used to take Dextrostat 10 mg, 2 pills, 2 x per day. When I switched my AD to Prozac 40 mg I noticed the Dextrostat would never wear off & was much stronger. It got to the point where I couldn't sleep and it would never wear off and had hallucinations. I think there is a major interaction b/c prozac strongly inhibits cyp2d6 which is how dexedrine/vyvanse/dextrostat is metabolized. In the literature there is an interaction b/t desipramine & dextrostat, prozac is even a stronger cyp2d6 inhibitor than desipramine.
