30mg isn't much... As my nurse, the lady who injects me once a month says, "when you're stable, you don't make changes."
Maybe you could get away with lowering it to 20mg, but if you are within 2 years since your last psychotic episode, I'd stick to what's working, and add the benzo. Keep in mind benzo withdrawal can induce psychosis, so stick to prn. Or take it religiously, but don't withdraw.
I mean, if abilify non-injection is working for you, more power to you, but you should probably diminish the validity you hold for the control thing, because I think that's unfair for the nice people who are trying to help you. The nurse practioner I see to get my shot is underpaid, because she's a state employee. I don't think she goes to work hoping to reduce the control I have in my life. Psychosis takes away my ability to control my thoughts, not Invega.
> yeah...I think it depends. I'm not gung-ho to have somebody shoot me full of a long-acting medication, since it strikes me as controlling and potentially oppressive. But I'm glad its kept you relapse-free.

I'm hoping to get it lowered to 20 and add in a BZD, either PRN or low-dose, daily use. We'll see how that goes (or if I can even see my doc @ her private practice).
