Stimulant prescriptions from family docs is fairly routine as far as I know. If the purpose is for depression that is not as routine but is still done. I get ritalin from my family doc and all I had to do was ask to try it. If a doc is hesitant you can ask just for a small amount that is not abusable....then if it goes well and you prove responsible handling of it, getting the prescription renewed shouldn't be a problem.
