It is always recommended you addd a mood stabilizer before you add an antipsychotic. The mood stabilizer may just treat all the symptoms you are having. Add abilify if you have lingering depression.
Its not a big deal to being treated with two AAPs. This may happen if you have manic symptoms that just won't be treated by the Lamictal and a single AP.
