I guess I was hoping for someone to have a mail-order pharmacy they'd had luck with recently. (Mine hadn't even bothered to notify me they couldn't fill the Rx, they just sent me the script back 2+ weeks after I'd sent it to them!)
To me, Adderall is not at all the same as Vyvanse / Dexi. It gave me anxiety beyond anxiety with can't live in my skin feelings. I couldn't last on it for 2 days (or maybe I made it to 4).
I've pretty much decided that if I can't find any Dexi tomorrow that I will ask for a lower dose of Vyvanse to use for the 2nd half of the day (maybe 40 mg instead of 60 -- I haven't checked to see what dosages are made, much less available.)
I live in Texas and one pharm employee told me that Ritalin is starting to come in more regularly. (Oddly, one large chain had maybe 11 pills of the name brand in all the stores in the area, but most of the stores had generic. We still had to settle for a 15-day supply for my son.)
I know this is bordering on being OT, but what sorts of drugs were the pharm companies on when they placed their orders for the basic amphetamines? Most Americans can tell you that ADHD meds are being prescribed in ever-increasing number and amount. How can they have mis-estimated THIS badly? And if the internet says Dexi is the one that will take the longest to return to market and that return should be in "mid 2012", when is "mid 2012"? I'm really afraid it is going to be August or later. ... I wish there was some sort of priority system. Don't get me wrong, I have a now-grown son who had severe ADHD and life was horrible when he wasn't medicated. But I am a mother with narcolepsy and I can't drive (or cook with a knife) if I don't have my meds. ... OK, done venting for now.
