So Dr Oz highlighted TMS for depression yesterday on his show. He seemed to like it, despite it is still new, revolutionary, and controversial. Even had a live demonstration of it. Quick, painless. The guest Dr who administers the procedure said they go for remission, not just response. Didn't say what the percentage success rate was though. Apparently the reason it isn't more popular is because of the cost, and insurance doesn't cover it until after the fact? I didn't quite understand that part.
Anyway, stimulating the prefrontal cortex (mood center) with magnetic energy waves.....makes sense to me.
I wonder how much it costs?
