In reply to high dosage lamictal cognitive problems, posted by n_shrimpie on February 21, 2012, at 18:34:41
Hi, I'm new, but thought I'd chime in. I had to get off Lamictal because of dental issues. Honestly, I miss it as one of the best ADs I've ever taken, but I was thrilled to recover some cognitive functions. My pdoc never believed that Lamictal caused cognitive problems until my memory improved, foggy thinking cleared up, and dissociation lessoned when I stopped taking it. For me, dissociation got better first and then the fogginess. My memory actually got worse the first few days of stopping (I stopped pretty quickly) but has been steadily getting better since. Good luck!
