Luvox was never approved by the FDA for the treatment of depression. I imagine this contributes to its lack of use.

My impression is that Luvox doesn't help as many people with depression as does Lexapro or Zoloft. I never tried Luvox, but I believe it can be sedating more often than the other SSRIs.
