This is probably one of the best plants on the planet, though sadly it doesn't like me. It's primary mechanism is by binding to receptor sites related to adrenals....it attaches to both the upside ones and the downside ones....so whichever ones are having a problem is where the herb has the most effect, thus a sort of an automatic balancing for whatever is out of balance. If something is too weak, it makes it stronger. If something is too strong, it tames it down.
My favorite in that class, by a long shot, is Rhodiola Rosea which in my opinion blows eleuthero in the weeds.
