I have no way of knowing if your shot had a mercury type preservative in it or not. Some shots do some don't. I doubt one shot would cause symptoms, but who knows maybe there was already some significant accumulation to begin with before the shot and then the shot just added to it maybe.
What I've learned in studying lyme and dealing with it is that the immune system is powerfully linked to nervous system, brain, mood centers and such. Without evidence, I believe any shot related to the immune system has the potential to trigger something wrong in a stray gene somewhere, and then all kinds of weird things happen. So that would include your shot since that is an immune system thing. As I see it anyway.
I have no idea about the supps not working anymore since the shot. Like I said, maybe somehow it triggered something, something it wasn't intended to trigger, and that changed the entire landscape for your supps. Or maybe your hunch is correct and it is mercury.
Ok so let's assume you believe you have a mercury problem and want to treat it. This is actually pretty straight forward and you could be starting in a few days. You'll have to order online a bottle of 25mg DMSA. Policy won't let me say the name of the place but you should find it in a google search. No prescription needed. Empty a 25mg capsule divide it into 4, and take one of those 4's every 4 hours. After 3 days stop. Determine how you feel. If ready to go again, go again except this time take 1/2 capsule every 4 hours. After another break, the next round is 25mg every 4 hours. Along the way you'll be able to judge whether you need to repeat a round at a lower dose or whether you are ok with a higher dose or not.
The whole idea here is to keep a steady blood level of DMSA so that the mercury it grabs won't be let go. DMSA half life is about 4 hours. Some people do every 3 hours instead.
Anything else you hear of or read which does not involve what I described above....which is basically PHd Andrew Cutler's method in his book Amalgam Illness....well, anything is just dangerous, risky, or won't work. There are lot of things that can stir up mercury and release it from cells, but not many that are strong enough to bond it all the way to excretion....thus any attempts at that can worsen things by redepositing mercury in new places. It has to be done effectively, slowly, and with minimal risk, which is the DMSA low dose frequent dose method of chelation. Take any other chelation products or foods and expect problems as mercury is redeposited.
I wouldn't know how to get a hold of long time records on something like tetanus shots but I'm sure there are bizarre adverse events that have happened with it.
The human bod seems to me to be so complicated. The more we learn the more we don't know. What we think we know, we actually don't. That's how i see much of medicine anyway. How to explain how a tetanus shot would stop longtime workinig supps from workinig is a mystery to me and all I can do is theorize in which case it has to be either a rare bizarre immune system quirk that was triggered by the tetanus, or mercury. With DMSA and the proper method the mercury part is fairly easy and straight forward. The immune system I would guess woulld find itself and rebalance in a short time, but you say since September? Hmm. See that looks suspicious. That's too long. Something's up. But of course you already knew that! Sorry.
If you can hook up with a naturopath you can request the heavy metals urine test in which you take urine sample before, then you take large dose maybe 1200mg DMSA all at once then collect urine for the next 6 hours. The before and after samples are compared for mercury content. If there is mercury, only very recent mercury will be in the blood. Most of it settles into tissue within a few days, where DMSA will grab it for the urine test, assuming of course if it is there to grab. If not, the test should come back looking fairly good. There are places online you can actually order the test yourself, get your own DMSA, and bypass the whole doctor visit, the sample goes to the same lab, a little more expensive but a nice option. A random urine sample should have hardly any mercury in it. After DMSA however, if there is mercury bonded to tissue, it will end up in the urine.
I did that test. My pre-DMSA sample was in the green colored normal area, and the after-DMSA sample was high into the red extreme level. Was also surprised to discover very high levels of lead. Also cadmium and aluminum. Amazing all this crap is just sitting in us stored in tissues, glands, cells, brains, and stuff and we wonder why there is so much hard to treat disease.
