Hi all:
I am doing pretty well overall. I am working more, and my life seems like it finally will be OK, and I can return to the workforce full time when work becomes available.
Problem: I can't seem to get anything done, or focus (work on resume, take assessment tests, go shopping) without caffeine. I even bought the pills, because they're cheaper than energy drinks.
Caffeine wears me out and makes me anxious in a way that Dexedrine doesn't. I may ask for a Dexedrine script to address this final issue. But I wanted to know if ADD-inattentives (trouble concentrating, losing keys, locking oneself out of the house, prone to messes, etc) have conquered or managed their condition with psychological treatment alone, or accupuncture, or something.
Stattera is a no-no, because I am still on 60mg Nardil and norandrenergic drugs make me feel bonkers with anxiety (Effexor, Cymbalta).
Gah. It sucks knowing that I may have to take stimulants. I have personally corresponded with a few people on another board on a stim+benzo+Memantine combo who have used Memantine, successfully, to get rid of tolerance. I don't know if my doctor would support this, although I did bring it up once and he seemed to know much about it.
Thanks, hope all are doing well, or better. It's the testosterone that's made a difference I think; that erased enough of the depression and fatigue for me to start enjoying life enough to make strides. I just need to be sure the levels of T and the other hormones it affects stay reasonable; I am looking forward to meeting my endocrinologist late month or early next year.
