Can parnate be mixed with risperdal

Posted by emmanuel98 on December 5, 2011, at 18:03:38

I have been on parnate for 2-1/2 years and have had recurrences of depression, but not so bad as the last month. I am now unable to get out of bed except to work and the suicidal thoughts are becoming intrusive and frightening. In the past when this happened, I knocked myself out with haldol and ativan, but the haldol caused akathesia the next day which made it hard to work.

Years ago I had intrusive suicidal thoughts and panic attacks and took risperdal, which worked almost immediately. I took it for a month and gained 12 pounds. I am now wondering if I could take it as a prn, once a week or something when I feel I am losing control. I left a message for my p-doc and am still waiting to hear.

But does anyone know if risperadal is contra-indicated with parnate?
