So,
I haven't posted in a bit. I've been feeling better since my doctor doubled my testosterone dose (5mg androgel from 2.5); we'll see if this holds, or if the feedback system kicks in and makes me feel worse again by lowering it.
The good news is that at my next visit my psychiatrist will be referring me to an endocrinologist for further hormonal treatment.
Energy has been pretty good, although I still drink more caffeine than most people (likely my ADD.). mood has been mostly good, pretty even.
I am pleased with having reduced Nardil to 60mg/day - I seem to have stopped gaining weight and have even lost 6 lbs in a month going to the gym not as often as I should!
The sleep issue is totally gone, I take one ambien CR at night and I'm fine.
Xanax varies between 1-2mg day.
Life stresses are less, but that's partially because I've had more energy/less depression to address them. I am working part time and getting very good compliments; still looking for full time work.
Hang in there ppl! I also encourage *all* depressed men to have your testosterone levels checked. I think that has always been the missing link with me...
take care,
-z
