I can't answer your question because I haven't seen too many stories written about it. I had no trouble discontinuing Savella after 6 weeks, but I tend to taper drugs by "feel". You can either cross-taper with another serotonergic drug or experiment with a rapid-taper and slow down if you begin to experience withdrawal symptoms. I think I had less trouble with Savella than I did with Effexor.

Withdrawal symptoms may develop after being on an antidepressant for only 3 weeks.
