> hey i just wanted to say i am a little concerned about the suggestion of some the up-ing dosages is no big deal and a higher dose means better results.
> This is not the case especially with respects to ssri and the like. higher does not equal higher efficacy if it did you doctors would all start you on the highest dose in fact there would be only one dose, so please be careful and considerate when giving and taking advice from others,my biggest concern of this topic is that some have seem to imply up-ing this doses without your doctors consent please do not do this! i understand as a fellow sufferer (not only depression but chronic illness) that we go through so many pills and treatments we start to feel like experts on the matters of therapy and medication but in truth we are not so be mindful and good luck to all of you.
> p.s.
> I see a lot of you have anxiety issues but for the few of those that spoke of major depression have any of you considered alternate therapy like ect?leli1,
You wrote,[...suggestion of..the up-ing dosages...].
Thank you for posting what IMHO could save lives or prevent one from getting a life-ruining conditon.
And it is much more than that. If you search the archives or go to the admin board, I think that you could get a better understanding of the caliber of the potential for death that is indicated by the requests from me to the administration that remain outstanding. You see, in my requests, I write that if the administration could post a reply here to them, that I could have the opportunity to respond accordingly. Since there is not a reply to my requests that are outstanding, then I do not have the opportunity to post a response. What if I did have that opportunity? Could lives be saved?
Now you could see that the forum is for support and education according to the TOS here. And Mr. Hsiung states that he does here what he thinks will be good for the community as a whole. Now in your post, people could not people die from a dosage larger than the amount stated in the manufacturer's liturature? And the administration had not interceded with a warning, but you did. Thanks, I think that's good. And could a {less confident} member think when they read what you posted about, that it is OK to up the dosage? I think a lot of people could think that it is OK for them to do that because the admin had not cautioned before you did and Mr. Hsiung has stated that support takes precedence. So could some think, that with no caution from the admin, it has the potential for some to think that it is supportive to up the dosage? If not, why not? Not all think that they are going to get the drs permission before they up he dosage because the person upping the doage already has the drug. Could not some think that because the site is operated by a psychiatrist that what is posted is OK unless the psychiatrist intercedes? After all, do not a lot of people think that a doctor would not allow harm to come from his site? And could not death be the result of uping the dosage of that drug? There were 5 people that commited suicide in the trials of Cymbalta, and here is a site that if you click on the red over the drug on top, it will list the drugs in order and you could see the deaths from the drug.
