I take a low dose of Fluanxol for its antidepressant and anti-anxiety effects. The Fluanxol insert states that the medicine must be taken in the mornings or by late afternoon due to its so-called "activating" properties.
I used to take 0.5 mg Fluanxol in the mornings. During the day I had no sedation but in the evenings I felt very tired and generally went to bed quite early even on weekends.
I decided to reduce the dose to 0.25 mg in the mornings. The evening tiredness went away but so did some of the beneficial effects.
My doctor then suggested I take 0.25 mg in the mornings and 0.25 mg in the evenings. Now I feel tired during the day but by late afternoon this disappears.
