In reply to Trileptal/Emsam contraindicated?, posted by floatingbridge on September 30, 2011, at 22:07:45
I am not aware of any pharmacokinetic or pharmacodynamic interactions occurring between a MAOI and Trileptal. However, Trileptal has a tricyclic structure. This is often used as the rationale for a contraindication. Trileptal may have a tricyclic structure, but it does not possess the monoamine reuptake blockade properties of TCA.
Without having more information to work with, I would conclude that you can mix Emsam with Trileptal without sequelae.
Wait for more feedback.
