I have had ECT and multiple anathesias since since starting parnate. Anesthesia is not really a problem. Just tell them you take an MAOI. The only real problem is demerol, which some anethesologists use but which can easily be replaced with something else.

Tell your dentist, no epinephrine, which is typically mixed with novocaine to cause vasoconstriction. My dentist just switched to another local anasthetic which worked just fine. I had to remind him twice though. I said, the second time, I don't want to end up in the ER and he said, I'm sure it's not that serious. I told him it is. MAOIs mixed with epinephrine can cause severe hypotensive crises. When I told him this, he got much more serious about it and wrote a note in my chart.
