I've found that, for me at least, long-term BZD use is a bad call. PRN, maybe, but I tend to become tolerant to the anxiolytic effects of, say, Klonopin after a few months, and then I'm just popping pills to keep the withdrawals and rebound anxiety at bay. No good.
My ideal would be monotherapy, but the question is..monotherapy with what? I'm prone to psychotic depression, so I don't think monotherapy is in my future. I like my current combo (lamictal+abilify) OK, except for the excessive sleep.
Combos like what you listed hurt people. They get people hooked on uppers and downers, they stymie personal growth by stimulating and/or tranquilizing away the pain of development, and they foster dependence, not only on drugs but on psychiatry as a whole.
