i might not be alive without SSDI and the Medicare and Medicaid that come with it. My parents I talk to daily, and as far as I've come I still have a long way to go. I call my Dad twice a day to tell him what my plans are for the day and that I've gotten them done. I have trouble doing things just for me. Some of it is financial. Most of what I spend time doing these days isn't fun but necessary for me to get on with my life. I like to spend money but find there's nothing to spend. I feel guilty buying a book at a used bookstore. If I could manage to find a job in my old field, it would help immensely. Working through that challenge while still having days of nasty symptoms is terribly hard. If I didn't have my parents to call... I'm not sure I'd get much done. but yeah, without the government check and medical coverage I might have given up.
