Your feeling worse might be a temporary effect of retarding your circadian rhythm - with or without sleeping pills. If this is true, you might begin feeling better within 3 days of maintaining a consistent sleep-wake cycle. This retardation of the cycle is just the opposite of the advancing of the clock in sleep-deprivation.
